Tiger Treasures Rummage Sale helps environment, local kids, bargain shoppers.

Need new stuff for your apartment or residence hall? Stop by Tiger Treasures Rummage Sale Saturday morning. Every year, Mizzou, the City of Columbia and participating nonprofit agencies join forces to collect and sell items donated by students moving out of MU Residential Life facilities and fraternity and sorority houses. Last year the project diverted about 19 tons of stuff from local landfills. Proceeds from the sale benefit Camp Mudd, an outdoor summer camp for Columbia-area children run by the University YMCA.

With the payment of a $5 donation, early-bird shoppers can start at 6 a.m. For everyone else, entry to the sale is free and open to the public 7-11 a.m. Saturday, May 30, at Mizzou Surplus Property near Capen Park. Park at the Hearnes Center, and take a shuttle to the Hearnes Center to the sale site. Happy shopping!
