Students holding flags gather on Francis Quadrangle.

Students prepare to march from Francis Quadrangle to Lowry Mall to celebrate MU International Day 2013.

Tigers from all over the world donned traditional costumes and carried colorful flags to kick off the 2013 MU International Day celebration. Started in 2008 with a decree by Chancellor Brady Deaton, the annual MU International Day is held the fourth Tuesday in September. Attractions include a flag ceremony, global music, information booths and, of course, the food-filled International Bazaar, a Mizzou tradition since 1974.

In 2013 international enrollment at Mizzou has reached an all-time high of 2,109 students, a 3.3 percent increase over last year. MU has formal agreements with more than 200 universities and government agencies around the world and welcomes an estimated 1,000 international visiting scholars and researchers each year.
