Mizzou students give back through Alternative Spring Break
This week is Spring Break for Mizzou, and in 2013 more students than ever before have chosen to spend their time off serving the country.
About 480 students are on 36 different service-oriented trips as part of Mizzou’s Alternative Spring Break program. The student-run organization sends Tigers to locations throughout the nation and abroad to help communities in need.
Mizzou ASB started at as part of the University YMCA with three trips in 1991 and has grown every year. ASB, an affiliate of the national Break Away program, has become the third-largest in the nation.
You can keep up with our Tigers’ work on Facebook, Twitter or the students' blog.
