Homecoming highlights

Tigers come back to CoMo, throw an awesome party and “stripe” the Zou.

Tigers are team players. Mizzou’s 103rd Homecoming celebration (‪#‎MIZ103HC) peaked Saturday with a remarkable display of unity: “Tiger striping” the Zou. Each fan at the football game against Vanderbilt dressed in either black or gold, according to Memorial Stadium ticket section, creating the overall visual effect of Tiger stripes. Oh, and we won the game, of course, 24-14.

Other Homecoming 2014 first-time happenings included the addition of bone marrow registration to one of the world’s largest annual blood drives and the dedication of a new campus landmark, Traditions Plaza, next to the Mizzou Alumni Center. The additions supplemented Mizzou’s many annual traditions: day of service, blood drive, food drive, talent competition, step show, campus decorations, skits, parade, tailgate parties, naming of the queen and king, football and nonstop revelry.

We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the glorious weather: clear, sunny skies with a hint of a fall breeze. Saturday’s high temperature reached 81 degrees.
