For senior Kevin Horner, an undergraduate education at Mizzou is the first step toward a career in medicine. A native of Belleville, Illinois, Horner is majoring in biology at Mizzou and says he wanted to be highly involved from the moment he arrived.

“I came to campus my freshman year eager to be a Tiger and make the most of everything Mizzou has to offer,” Horner said.

While he plans a course schedule that will best prepare him for medical school, he also finds time for volunteering at Hospice, where he gives companionship to those with terminal illnesses. Horner also works at the Missouri Orthopedic Institute as a medical scribe.

Horner says he couldn’t be happier with his decision to come to Columbia.

“The friendships I have made and the opportunities and experiences I’ve had the past three years at Mizzou have been the best of my life.”
