There’s a familiar hustle and bustle on campus that signifies a special time of year—Tigers are making their move to Mizzou.

If you prowl around university grounds during this time, you’ll find loved ones unloading vehicles in front of the residence halls. But they’re not the only ones lending a helping hand. Keeping with tradition, a number of student groups are volunteering to help, and even University of Missouri System President Mun Choi and MU Chancellor Alexander Cartwright rolled up their sleeves to assist with the move-in process.

Before arriving, some students had a chance to connect with their roommates and decide what items they needed for their shared living space over the next year.

MU’s Department of Residential Life also provided tips and information to make the transition easier for incoming Tigers. The move-in checklist (PDF) includes approved appliances like mini-refrigerators or microwaves, and useful items that are easily forgotten when making such a big move.

As Tigers move in to their new digs, Mizzou has some welcome activities in store for them. Not to mention, they’ll be able to witness a total solar eclipse on the first day of classes!

So, welcome to your new home, Tigers! M-I-Z!
