Fleming, BS '12 and MS '16, has had countless experiences and lifelong memories of Mizzou athletic events and fraternity functions but his wedding on Traditions Plaza in 2015 is his favorite Mizzou memory.

Matt Fleming has had a lot of great moments at Mizzou. He received two bachelor’s degrees and a master’s degree from the university, worked on campus as a student and started his career here; however, none of those moments compare to his favorite memory at Mizzou. In 2015, Fleming got married on Traditions Plaza.

Now an instructor at Mizzou, Fleming attributes his success to his experiences at the university. He has been a part of the Mizzou community for the past 10 years, transitioning from an undergraduate to graduate student and now works as a guest services coordinator for Mizzou Athletics and adjunct instructor in the School of Natural Resources.

“Mizzou has provided me with the tools, experiences and people in my life to be successful,” Fleming said. “I’m able to support this university because of what I’ve learned during my time here, both as a student and a professional.”

Working at Mizzou allows Fleming to give back to the university that gave him so many opportunities. He feels he owes his family, his career, his community to Mizzou.

“Columbia is a fantastic community and great place to spend a few years, or if you’re like me — even longer,” Fleming said.

As an alumnus and staff member, Fleming is a devoted Tiger fan.
